On the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness—or genius—will she inherit?

Please arrive promptly at the start of the audition time. You do not need to attend both nights.  Auditionees will be reading from the script.
For musicals, prepare a song you feel confident in singing. Try to select a song that is the same style as the show for which you are auditioning. (Melodic songs like show tunes, church music, folk songs, etc. are better than jazzy pop songs.) Bring sheet music if possible; no recorded accompaniment.
There may be dancing or improvisation as part of the audition. Please dress in clothes you can move in. Please, no flip-flops. Please look carefully at the performance dates. Being in a show at Theatre Statesville requires a great time commitment. If you will only take a larger or smaller role because of your own time concerns, or if you are auditioning for just the experience, you are WELCOME!--but please let the director know your intentions.
